STC Trading — Coming Soon
STC Trading for Australian Solar Vendors — Coming Soon
ASLS STC Trading is coming soon and is not currently available. The planned service is intended to support participating solar vendors with the trading workflow for eligible Small-scale Technology Certificates. Eligibility, certificate creation and compliance will remain subject to Clean Energy Regulator requirements and the applicable arrangements.
What Are Small-scale Technology Certificates?
The Australian Government's Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme provides incentives for eligible installations through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). The number of certificates depends on the eligible technology, capacity, location, installation date and applicable scheme rules.
An eligible system owner may create and trade certificates or assign the right to create them to a registered agent. The Clean Energy Regulator determines scheme eligibility and evidence requirements.
What the Planned ASLS Service Is Intended to Support
- A structured STC trading workflow for participating vendors once launched
- Connection with the broader ASLS vendor and commercial-finance process
- Clear handling of information required for the applicable trading arrangement
- A register-of-interest pathway before the service becomes available
Documentation and Eligibility Still Matter
STC participation is not automatic. The system and installation must meet current scheme requirements, declarations and supporting evidence must be complete, and certificates must be created within applicable time limits.
Solar businesses should use current Clean Energy Regulator guidance and obtain specialist advice where a system, claim or assignment arrangement is uncertain.
